January Meeting and Virtual AGM

January 12 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Event Navigation

It is a virtual AGM, using zoom, which is a first for us. Meeting ID: 818 3309 7266
Passcode: 688090.

The committee has worked hard, and all the reports and accounts will be on the members’ page of the Association website ahead of time, together with the agenda, and minutes of last year’s AGM. Next year’s programme will also be there; we have a lot planned, but naturally everything will be subject to the COVID-19 guidance in place at the time. We miss seeing people, but must follow the COVID-19 guidance and keep everyone safe.

A lot has been accomplished this year in spite of the circumstances. We anticipate the AGM will be a short meeting, so another first for Enfield, we have Dr Sara Robb to talk to us live after the formal AGM, about using hive products to make hand cream. Sara will also answer questions following her talk. We are looking forward to this, Sara has a lot of experience demonstrating how to make cosmetics using honey and wax and has run workshops at the National Honey Show. You may also have seen her articles in BBKA News. Sara has previously spoken to us about making soap and lip balm, so we look forward to seeing her again.

It would be great to see everyone, and a good opportunity to catch up with people. The zoom link has already been sent, but here it is again below this message. The link says 7pm and this is to give people time to join the meeting and iron out any glitches before the meeting starts at 7.30pm. If you have difficulties with zoom, please let a member of the committee know in advance, we will try to help people before the meeting, but will not be able to do anything once the meeting starts.

2021 Subscriptions

We all need to pay subs as usual and you will shortly receive an email from Stuart our Treasurer and myself with directions how to pay. This year we are asking for all payments to be completed by Friday 12 February. Keep an eye on the spam box as sometimes they go there. It may be headed up no reply membership services which is a title given by the eR2 system we use. As last year, there are two options

  1. by bank transfer online
  2. or cheque payable to Enfield and District Beekeepers’ Association accompanied by the completed membership form posted to Stuart.

It will really help the Association, Stuart, and the rest of the committee if you can use the online option. When you receive the message, please follow the instructions to check your details are correct, and for payment. I look forward to seeing everyone on zoom for the AGM and talk.

Stay safe and well

Best wishes, Mary
